The introductory meeting for the Jewish Sports Medicine Kentucky Derby Festival Healthy Lifestyle Training Program is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at DuPont Manual High School, 120 W. Lee St. This free 15-week program is intended to benefit runners training for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon presented by Walmart on April 28, 2012. The program will give runners an opportunity to talk with professionals regarding nutrition, training tips, injury prevention and education.

?Jewish Hospital and St. Mary?s HealthCare is pleased to be a partner in the Kentucky Derby Festival?s Healthy Lifestyle Training Program for the fifth consecutive year,? said David Laird, President and CEO of Jewish Hospital and St. Mary?s HealthCare. ?Congratulations to everyone taking part in this exciting step to improve their health.?

The Training Program meeting will include distribution of a free training packet and Technical shirt for the first 800 attendees; introduction of the athletic trainers and nutritionists; an overview of the training runs and general preparation; guest speakers and a question-and-answer session.
