Kindle Fire News: Cools iPad Sales & Elastic Compute Cloud Hijacked

Kindle Fire New View

There's been some new Kindle Fire news to start off the new year. The Kindle Fire has burned a slight hole in the momentum of iPad sales and its browser has been ported to other Android devices. ?The Kindle Fire was hottest selling and most-wished-for item on Amazon?and named the most-gifted-promoted tablet by Wireless and Mobile News.

Morgan Keegan?lowered its ?shipment estimates for iPad in the December quarter from 16 million to 13 million due to Kindle Fire sales.

"Based on data from Amazon, we believe the Amazon Fire likely sold 4 - 5 million units this holiday season," wrote Tavis McCourt, a Morgan Keegan analyst who estimates that the Kindle Fire accounted for a loss of?maybe 1 - 2 million iPad sales.

The report also noted hat compared to the previous (sequential) quarter, revenue generated from the iPad will be down.

The Android browser "Silk" is very fast because Amazon servers (Elastic Computer Cloud) to serve up content faster. ?The ported aka stolen Silk browser hijacks the Amazon servers for fast browsing. The hijacked Silk browser requires a "rooted" jailbroken Android phone or tablet.

In general 'rooting" Android voids warranties and makes tech support miserable. ? The best way to get faster browsing is by having a faster browser and connection.

?The Kindle Fire? works as a Amazon.com "cash register" to fuel Amazon Sales. ?If they rooted Silk browser also hijacked the built-in sales and automated Amazon account access, maybe Amazon won't mind the ported browser.

Kindle Fire sales are predicted to beat all other tablets in 2012.
