2012 APCO Global Congress Session to Compare P25 and TETRA ...

22 March 2012 Alexandria, VA USA? Delegates attending the 2012 APCO Global Congress will gain information that will help them decide whether P25 or TETRA is right for their organization, during a Roundtable comparing the two standards for digital radio communications.

The APCO Global Congress is a premier public safety communications event, bringing the international public safety community together in the Middle East. This year, it will be held 1-3 May 2012 in Dubai, UAE.

The P25 v TETRA Roundtable will be on Tuesday 1, May 2012 at 13:30. It is an opportunity to discuss the various aspects of both technologies without advocating for either. The intent is to provide a side-by-side comparison so that the delegates can ascertain which radio standard best suits their needs.

Topics for the Roundtable include general characteristics, functional aspects, radio coverage considerations and costs.

Mark Cannon, APCO International Chief of Staff; Chris Kindelspire, Director of Electronic Operations with Grundy County ETSB (911); and Tony Gray, Regional Business Director (MENA) with P3 Communications GmbH (on behalf of the TETRA Association) will lead the discussion.

The P25 v TETRA Roundtable is one of more than a dozen educational sessions and keynote addresses held during the Congress. Delegates will add the latest best practices and research to their knowledge base and advance their careers in high-quality educational sessions led by experts from around the world.

The APCO Global Congress is hosted on behalf of the APCO Global Alliance, a coalition of APCO International, APCO Canada, British APCO, and APCO Australasia. Delegates from more than 160 countries and 19 nations were represented at the inaugural event in 2011. Event registration is now open. More information on attending, exhibiting or sponsoring the Congress is available at www.apcoglobalcongress.org.
